MTN Nigeria has extended the deadline for the SIM registration indefinitely. The telecom industry which is one of the leading telecom industries has announced that its revalidation centers continue the SIM registration exercise. The centers according to the statement issued by the company will remain open on daily basis from morning till 8 pm at night.
However, the date for the closing of the registration was not mentioned in the statement. According to the statement the registration exercise will continue until further notice.
The statement mentioned that the reason for the extension of the registration is to make it possible for all the users of the company’s SIM cards who are experiencing problem with their SIMs or whose lines have been blocked to register and revalidate their SIM cards without experiencing any difficulty.
The statement also mentioned that the company has included more workforce in the exercise to ensure that affected subscribers are able to register and revalidate their SIM cards. The company in the statement call on all the affected subscribers to endeavor to do their registration at any MTN sales outlets, agents, dealer shops and MTN service centers.
The registration and revalidation exercise is being carried out following the directives of Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) which has threatened to penalize any telecom that fails to register and revalidate their subscribers.
In the statement, MTN promised the company’s commitment in making sure that affected subscribers are registered and revalidated. Thus, it appealed to them not to panic.
