Famous Nigerian singer Oladapo Oyebanji, professionally known as D’banj, has been arrested by ICPC (Independent Corrupt Practices Commission) for allegedly diverting N-Power Funds.
He allegedly conspired with some government officials, created ghost beneficiaries, and paid the money into accounts that have been linked to him.
According to reports, he was arrested and detained on Tuesday after ICPC officials confronted him and ordered him to surrender at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.
D’banj was asked to appear for interrogation about fraud allegations, experts claimed that he had dodged subpoenas for weeks, claiming that he was abroad for scheduled concerts
The online newspaper states that the artist escaped justice for a few weeks before being arrested by enforcement agencies.
