Terrorist sect, Boko Haram yesterday released another video, and like the last video released, the group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, is again not in the latest video.
In the video, the new leader is seen supervising the cutting of hands of two men regarded as thieves in a typical Sharia fashion.
The video, which was shot this November, titled ‘Establishment of the Limit upon the Thieves’, the sect is seen taking “disciplinary actions” against two men.
In the brief video, the leader could be seen addressing the people using a megaphone, he reminds them of the Sharia law and shows the sect accusing some men of stealing, which it called “hudud”, a crime against God.
The amputation was carried out after quotations from the Quranic verse 5:38 “[As for] the thief, the male and the female, amputate their hands in recompense for what they committed as a deterrent [punishment] from Allah. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.”
The leader, who was in the sect’s last video, spoke to the people in Hausa and Arabic, before finally executing the amputations with an axe. The blood of the victims, have been circled in blue, as the video is too gory to be published.
Apart from the last audio message released by Abubakar Shekau in September, nothing has been heard of him till date, nor has he appeared in any of the Sect’s latest videos. However, the Nigerian military has published his face as well as that of 99 others, on the list of most wanted terrorists in Nigeria.
