Microsoft Provides Financial, Technical and Mentorship Support to a Nigerian Healthcare Start-Up

Microsoft which is a popular software giant across the globe has provided Sabaoth Technologies, a local healthcare start-up with financial, technical and mentorship support as part of its 4Afrika initiative. The support is aimed at transforming the health delivery organizations of Nigeria via All Purpose Medical Information System (APMIS) of Sabaoth Technologies.

APMIS is a connected medical care platform that makes it possible for medical care facilities not only to capture but to also store and exchange relevant data at an affordable cost, easily and securely. APMIS which is a 100 percent Nigerian made app is created and designed to provide solution to the challenges of healthcare information in resource constrained environments. Currently, the APMIS has been introduced at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan and several other small and medium healthcare facilities.

Sabaoth Technologies have recently agreed terms with 40 private and public healthcare facilities in Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom states to provide APMIS to them and also to digitise the records of more than 10,000 patients into APMIS in a hospital in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The CEO of Sabaoth Technologies who spoke about the system enumerated its benefits to hospitals. According to Dr. Simpa, the system will help owners and managers of hospitals to increase profitability, satisfy their patients through quality healthcare and also reduce costs and overheads.

While talking about the collaboration with Microsoft, Dr. Simpa said that the company hoped to work with Microsoft in order to enhance their development process, scale their solution and use technology to better healthcare.

The Director of Small, Mid-Market Solutions and Partners, Microsoft Nigeria, Oluwawemimo Adeniyi while speaking on support given to Sabaoth Technologies by Microsoft said that healthcare sector in the African Market is being transformed by Sabaoth Technologies with its relevant and low cost technology solution.

The company according to him is impacting on the entire communities of people with their technology which helps healthcare facilities to enhance efficiency, transparency and productivity.
