Gunmen Kidnap Catholic Reverend Father In Abuja

Reverend father, Matthew Dajo, of the St Anthony Catholic Church, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

The church which is located in Yangoji village, Kwali Area Council, a suburb in Abuja, was invaded on Sunday at 9:47pm.

An eye witness said the gunmen jumped the fence of the priest’s house while others positioned themselves outside, before entering his bedroom, and whisking him away

The incident was also confirmed by Miriam Yusuf, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command.

Yusuf urged residents to remain calm and report any suspicious movements they observed to the police, adding that, a manhunt has began for the kidnappers and also rescue the priest.

She said, “The Commissioner of Police FCT, Bala Ciroma, has launched a manhunt to trail and apprehend the suspects.

“While urging residents to be security conscious and promptly report all suspicious movements, the command wishes to reiterate its unflinching commitment to the protection of lives and property in the Federal Capital Territory.”
