#EndSARS: Gov. Obiano Finally Fires His SSA On Security James Nwafor Accused Of Extra-Judicial Killings As OC SARS In Akwuzu

Following outcry by Nigerians, Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, has sacked his Senior Special Adviser on Security in the state, James Nwafor, a retired Chief Supretendent of Police.

Nwanfor, during his time as Officer in Charge of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Akwuzu, Anambra state, is being accused of untold number of murders, extortion and imprisonment without bail during his 15-year tenure as police chief in the station.

He is also accused of being a ritualist, who sells body parts of murdered prisoners. He was quoted as telling a family, that he killed their son and nothing cam be done to him.

Listed as part of his crimes, Mr. Nwafor allegedly made the father of one of his victims swim a pond filled with dead bodies of prisoners, to search for his son.

Amongst those calling for his prosecution is Amnesty International, a human rights organization.

The governor made this known while addressing protesters, who converged at the state secretariat in Anambra state.

Obiano promised that James Nwanfor would be prosecuted, while promising to visit all SARS station in the state to ensure all unfairly jailed are released.

He said, ”Today, I joined youths of our dear State to say #EndPoliceBrutality and I support them because they did not only vote and defend their votes in my 21-over-21 victory but all their requests are genuine and germane; and I oblige to honour them all.

”I felt honoured being in their midst to share in their feelings; and I made it clear that:

”First, Federal Government has disbanded SARS but I will personally visit all SARS offices in Anambra State to ensure that anyone being held is released, immediately; Second, James Nwafor, former OC SARS in Anambra State is sacked and will be prosecuted;

”Third, I’ll ensure that the Presidency does the needful to ensure a better life for our youths, for us, ndi Anambra and for our nation.

”Long Live Anambra Youths!
