The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly arrested the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, in Lagos.
The Deputy Director of the Radio Station, Uche Mefor, as well as other members of staff, in a continuous broadcast on the radio station, alleged that Kanu was arrested in Lagos yesterday, by the security operatives, as he arrived Nigeria from his base in the United Kingdom.
The radio station also confirmed the arrest on its official twitter handle:
It will be recalled that the Federal Government, had on several occasions in the past tried to shut down the radio station by jamming its signal, due to its incessant call for secession by the Eastern Region, from Nigeria.
However, as at the time of filing this report, the DSS is yet to issue a formal statement.
