Bandits Abduct Sarkin Fulani Of Ilorin

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped the Sarkin Fulani of Ilorin, Usman Adamu Hardo.

The incident, according to Daily Trust, took place on Thursday at around 8:00am, around the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in Ilorin.

A source who confirmed the incident, said, Sarkin Fulani was on his way to the bank in his car with his son Babangida when the gunmen who were in another vehicle, blocker them.

“They asked him to come out from his own vehicle and join them, I learned that he was carrying some cash to bank when they kidnapped him.

“His car was later recovered with his phone inside, it is now with the police,” he said

However, Hajiya Aina’u Usaman, the victims wife, also confirmed to the newspaper how her husband was abducted, adding that her son has been freed by the gunmen.

“They did not go with Babangida (his son). He is back home.

“He told us that it was three of the gunmen that came out of their vehicle and forced my husband to join them in their car.

“He pleaded with them to collect the money with him and set him free, but they refused, telling him that they have been looking for him for so long.

“They spoke Hausa language with their faces covered and they were wearing kaftan,” she added

While urging for his prompt rescue, Hajiya Aina’u, noted that her husband is also battling health challenges.
