Airtel’s Multimedia Journalism Training/Road Show Journalism to Begin in Enugu on 17, August



Airtel Nigeria which is one of the leading mobile network service providers in the country will start its Multimedia Journalism Clinic in Enugu, the Coal City.

The program is a week-long training/road show facilitated by Taiwo Obe, the founder of the Journalism Clinic, and Dan Mason an international digital media expert. It is aimed at bringing digital learning experience to journalists in the country.

The programme began in Lagos in August 3 and has taken place on different dates till 14th of August in Ibadan and Abuja. The journalists in Enugu the south-east and south-south of the country will have the opportunity to benefit from the training starting from Monday, 17 August, 2015.

Emeka Oparah, the Director, Corporate Communication and CSR of Airtel Nigeria while speaking about the programme highlighted on the commitment of Airtel Nigeria in providing opportunities as well as exceptional learning platforms for journalists in the country.

He mentioned that the company has interest in helping the local media industry to grow. To achieve this, the Airtel Nigeria according to Oparah is collaborating with stakeholders in the country.

Oparah said that Airtel has it as its core value to touch the lives of everybody in the areas they operate without excluding any person. The company’s effort to provide relevant platforms to all its critical stakeholders according him will be a continuous one.

The founder and director of Journalism Clinic, Taiwo Obe while talking about the programme said that journalists would be taught how to create multimedia stories that are not just easy to share on social media but also intriguing and accessible.

100 Nigerian Journalists in the country would be trained in Airtel multimedia journalism training programme. In the training that will take place in Enugu starting from Monday, 17th of August, 25 journalists picked from various media houses in South-East and South-South zones will participate in the programme.
