The paramount ruler of Adara in Kaduna State, His Royal Highness Agwom Adara, Maiwada Raphael Galadima, has been killed.
He was reported murdered on Thursday night by his captors after a N10m ransom was paid for his release.
He was abducted last Friday alongside his wife and driver by unknown persons along Kaduna-Kachia road. His wife and driver were however allowed to go two days after the incident but N10 million was demanded as ransom for the release of the traditional ruler.
The bandits also killed his police orderly and three other palace guards, who were traveling with him at the time of his kidnap.
One of the officials of Adara Development Association who went to identify the body at the St. Gerald Catholic Hospital in Kakuri, Kaduna, said the late Agom was shot twice in the head as there were bullet wounds piercing through his ears and neck.
The village has been thrown into confusion and mourning over Galadima’s death, as the State government announced a fresh 24-hour curfew over tensions in the area.
