Governor of Kaduna state Nasir El-rufai has said that out of the 59 active cases of coronavirus in Kaduna State, 50 were found among repatriated Almajiri pupils from Kano State.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the state currently has a total of 66 cases, out of which six people including the state governor of have been treated and discharged.
Meanwhile, one person was confirmed dead in the state.
Thirty-one cases was confirmed by the NCDC in Kaduna on Saturday, however, the state government announced 14 additional cases among Almajiri and later confirmed another 16 positive result from the pupils.
However, Governor Nasir El-Rufai took to Twitter to announce that the state has now recorded 50 cases from repatriated Almajiris from Kano state, adding that the total number of active cases are 59.
