Usman Umar, a Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), police command is dead.
He was allegedly killed by protesting members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), in Abuja today.
Until his death, he was the DCP, Operations.
More so, he served as the Principal Staff Officer (PSO), to former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris before his retirement.
The Force Headquarters would issue a statement to that effect.
The group is protesting the continuous detention of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky. About six people lost their lives in the protest today.
