Unknown Person Assassinate Assistant Director Of Administration Of The State House In Her Abuja Home

Unknown persons have killed Ms. Laetitia Naankang Dagan, Assistant Director of Administration in the State House, Abuja.

Dagan was said to have been killed in her apartment in Galadimawa, Abuja, on Monday shortly after she returned from work in the State House, Abuja.

The State House Deputy Director of Information, Attah Esa, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said the 47-year Ms. Dagan from Plateau State, worked in her office on Monday till 8pm, but by 11pm, she was murdered in her apartment by unknown persons.

The statement quoted the Permanent Secretary, State House, Abuja, Jalal Arabi, as describing her killing as “a painful loss, not only to her immediate family, but also the entire State House.”

Arabi, who spoke during a condolence visit to her family members, said they were pained by the “dastardly and untimely death” of a dedicated and hard-working officer.

“We all share in your grief and pains, but be consoled by the fact that she lived a good life and contributed her best to the services of her nation,’ he added

The Permanent Secretary, who voiced confidence that “the Police will fish out the killers of Laetitia and the law will take its course”, prayed God Almighty to comfort Ms. Dagan’s family, the entire Staff of State House, and grant her soul eternal rest.

She was said to be a participant in an ongoing training for civil servants holding at the Manhattan Event Centre, Uke, Nasarawa State.

Some of her colleagues who spoke on her demise, said the assailants set Dagan’s apartment on fire probably after killing her.

“The assailants were so cruel. They tied her and set her with her mattress on fire.

“She was just promoted to the position of assistant director last year. She was always full of smile,” one of her colleagues said.

More so, thr Police is yet to arrest anyone in connection with the murder, but are said to be working on a clue on an item suspected to have been mistakenly left behind by one of the assailants.

Meanwhile, friends and family members of the deceased have taken to social media to mourn her.

One of them, Comfort Sajoh Gaiya, posted what appeared to be the deceased’s last photograph said to have been taken at about 4pm on Monday, a few hours before she was killed.

“This photo was taken yesterday (Monday) at about 4pm at the Manhattan Event Centre, Uke, Nasarawa State. She was full of life, as you can see. She was Dagan Laetitia Naankang, Assistant Director (TSW) State House. She was murdered by unknown gunmen in her residence last night,” Gaiya wrote on Facebook.
