Suspected fulani herdsmen on Tuesday, kidnapped three men in a Toyota Sienna car belonging to Lafia Hospital, along Lagos-Ibadan express road.
A passenger who escaped said the kidnappers were 15 in number, he further added that all of them spoke Hausa and only one could converse in English.
However, one of the kidnapped passenger in the car has been identified as the son of the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Lafia Hospital, Apata, Ibadan, Dr. Oladipupo Sule.
The ugly incident was said to have taken place on the Ogun state part of the road, along Ogunmakin village.
The abductors are yet to communicate with the victim’s family as of the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, as at Wednesday evening, the Oyo State Police Command made it known that the kidnap case of the son of the CMD of Lafia Hospital, is yet to be reported officially.
Mr. Gbenga Fadeyi, the Oyo state Police Public Relations Officer, in a telephone interview with journalists, said the area of the incident falls within the jurisdiction of the Ogun state police command, noting that it could be the reason why they have not been briefed officially on the kidnap.
However, Dr. Sule, said, the hospital’s vehicle, was abandoned by the kidnappers and has been recovered by the policemen at Ogunmakin station in Ogun state.
More so, the kidnappers, who are said to be mainly youths, were still being awaited to open a line of discussion with the victims’ relatives.
“I am presently in Ogunmakin police station as I talk to you. I am distressed and seriously devastated.
“My son and two others went to Lagos to buy drugs for the hospital and were on the way back from the trip, when they were ambushed and kidnapped.
“The driver said one of the kidnappers communicated in English and others were speaking in Hausa or Fulani language.
“They are yet to talk to me for us to know what their real identities and intentions,” Sule added.
