Nigeria’s Service Chiefs today said their strategy to curb the security situation in the country, is working.

Speaking with journalists after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja, the Chief of Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar, said the meeting was “all about the security of Nigerians and Nigeria”.

He assured Nigerians that the security forces would continue to do their best to ensure peace in the country.

He noted that their strategy which is already in place, is yielding positive results.

“What we are going to do is to ensure that all hands are on deck and every Nigerian equally has a role to play by passing relevant intelligence to us,” he said.

“So far, the strategy that we have on ground is really working and that is the one we will continue to pursue.’’

Other service chiefs at the meeting were Gabriel Olonisakin, chief of defence staff; Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff; and Ibok Ekwe-Ibas, chief of naval staff.

Babagana Monguno, national security adviser; Ahmed Abubakar, director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA); Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police, and Yusuf Bichi, director general of Department for State Service (DSS), were also at the meeting.
