The police sergeant who shot dead two brothers and their friend before killing himself at an hotel last week in Ketu, Lagos, has been dismissed from service posthumously.
More so, it was gathered that the family of the policeman, Sergeant James Stephen, will forfeit his over N1.5 million entitlement, but will be allowed to receive his monthly contributory pension.
Sergeant Jame who has spent over 15 years with the Nigeria Police and have attained the rank of a Sergeant, was entitled to at least N1.5 million, upon retirement or death.
He was dismissed by the panel set up to investigate the killing by the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni.
More so, the panel revealed that the policeman was on illegal duty at the hotel where the incident took place, as he was actually sent to guard a bank, in Ikeja.
The officer-in-charge of MOPOL 22 where the policeman was serving, testified against him.
