As part of plans to effectively stop the effect and transfer of the coronavirus pandemic, the police has blocked the inbound and outbound sections of the Lagos-Ibadan express road.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari during his nationawide broadcast on Sunday, ordered a total lockdown in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun states.

This is in-line with local and global best practices for curbing the spread of COVID-19.

The lockdown is to last for 2-weeks, effect from 11pm on Monday, 30th March 2020.

More so, based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDac, the President also restricted movement in Ogun State due to its close proximity to Lagos and the high traffic between the two States.

Security operatives have now taken over the roads leading in and out of states affected with the hope that containment period would be used to identify, trace and isolate all individuals that have come into contact with confirmed cases.
