Samsung Partnered with Ekiti State to Establish an  Engineering Academy

Following a successful launch of its first Nigeria engineering academy in Lagos, Samsung Electronics West Africa has introduced a second academy in Ekiti State. The new academy was established in partnership with Ekiti State government.

According to the Managing Director of Samsung Electronics West Africa, Mr. Brovo Kim, the new academy was introduced in order to provide young people with the technical skills they require in order to change their lives and make remarkable contribution to the nation’s development.

Kim who spoke during the launch of the Ekiti engineering academy acknowledged that there was shortage of skills in Africa which the company aimed at solving by establishing engineering academy in the continent. As evident in his speech, Nigeria is not the only African country benefiting from the initiative. Samsung as mentioned by Mr. Kim in his speech has launched similar academy in South Africa and Kenya.

The academy is built to accommodate twenty students. It features three theory rooms and three practical rooms. Lessons will be provided in three disciplines which include Information Mobile Technology, Home Appliances and Audio Visual
