The Anambra State Police said its command has arrested a man said to be a top member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and also commands its militant wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Accordint to the report, the commander identified as Udebuan Sage Chubueze was arrested in his house, at Ekwukobia in the Aguata Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, October 30, following a tip-off and was said to have sustained bullet wounds.
Recall that, on October 29, there was a gun battle between security agents and some gunmen in Ekwulobia with many of the gunmen escaping with bullet injuries they sustained.
IPOB, a pro-Biafra group, has been accused of being responsible for some of the attacks against the security personnel in the South-East, but the group has continued to deny any involvement.
