PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh Handcuffed to Court, Granted N400m bail

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, on Tuesday arrived court from Kuje Prison in handcuffs.

Metuh is accused of receiving N400m from the immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA), Mohammed Sambo Dasuki, who is also standing trial.

However, the presiding Judge, Justice Okon Abang, granted the accused bail, and directed him to produce two sureties, who must each signed bond of N200m.

The judge said the sureties must own houses in Maitama, a highbrow area in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Metuh-on-Cuff

The judge, in granting the bail, noted that the offences for which the applicant was standing trial were bailable.

He said, under the nation’s criminal justice system, an accused is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.

More so, Mr. Metu is to remain in prison till he can meet with bail conditions.
