Nigerians hit Buhari, Osinbajo, governors over absence at COAS Attahiru’s burial



The absence of President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo at the burial ceremony of Late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and several others in Abuja om Saturday has sparked criticism from Nigerians across the globe.

Buhari and Osinbajo were no where to be seen at the ceremony leaving a lot of Nigerians surprised and confused as to why both leaders where a ‘no show’.

The event only had three governors in attendance, Govenor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State and Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state were the only governors in attendance. The event also had the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari, Minister Defence, Bashir Salihi Magashi and well as others.

Absentee governors were accused of nonchanlance towards army chief demise, as many were seen in pictures, at the wedding of the son of Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federarion.

News had broken out on Friday evening that Attahiru and 10 others died in a plane crash in Kaduna state.

They were buried at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja on Saturday afternoon in accordance to Islamic rites.
