The Nigeria Communications Communication has established a nine man task force to look into the quality of service delivery in the telecommunications sector in the country.
The 9-member task force was established by the new Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of NCC, Prof. Umar Dambatta during the first meeting he has ever had with the top management of the commission on Friday. The task force was given the major charge of looking at the issue of quality of service in all its ramifications and proffering practical solution to the problems as well as suggesting ways of enhancing the image of the commission. They should also look into infrastructural problems.
According to the statement released by Mr. Tony Ojobo, the NCC Director of Public Affairs, the establishment of the task force to assess the quality of service delivered in the telecom sector was agreed on during the management meeting. The statement mentioned the names of the people that constituted the task force and they include Director, Special Duties, Mrs. Iyabo Sholanke, Director of Technical Standards, Mr. Fidelis Onah, Head of Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement, Mr Efosa Idehen and Mr. Ephraim Nwokenneya, Head of Compliance and Monitoring, Assistant Director of Technical Standard, Mr. Edoyemi Ogoh.
Others are Deputy Director of Projects, Mr. Bashir Idris, Head of Legal and Regulatory Services, Mrs. Yetunde Akinloye, Head of Public Relations, Mr. Reuben Muoka, Head of Public Relations, Mr. Philip Eretan and Assistant Director of Technical Standards, Mr Edoyemi Ogoh.
The task force has a period of 6 months beginning from 21st of August to submit their reports to the management during their monthly meeting. The management will also contact the relevant stakeholders in order to find solutions on how to solve the complex poor quality service.
