Kidnapped Kaduna Lecturers Escape From Abductor After Six Days

Two lecturers kidnapped in Mahuta community of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have escaped from their adbuctors after six days in captivity.

News of Nigeria had earlier reported that the two lecturers, who are also blood brothers, Adamu and Umar Chinoko, were abducted by gunmen.

Meanwhile, Umar was detained by the gunmen after he went deliver the sum of N2.1 million and a motorcycle demanded by the gunmen for the release of his brother Adamu.

The incident occured on November 11.

DSP Yakubu Sabo, the Kaduna State Police Command Public Relation Office, while confirming the incident, said the victims escaped from their captors on Sunday.

He added that security operatives are still trailing the kidnappers with a view to arresting and prosecuting them despite the release of the two lecturers.

The victims, Adamu Chinoko and Umar Chinoko, are both lectures, working at the Ahmadu Bello Universi­ty (ABU), Zaria, and Kaduna Polytechnic, respectively.
