Kidnapped Immigration spokesperson in Benin regains freedom



Bridget Esene, spokesperson of the Nigeria Immigration Service in Edo State, has been released by her abductors.

This was confirmed by the Police Command in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed her release to the News Agency of Nigeria on telephone.

The NIS spokeswoman, who was kidnapped by gunmen in Benin on Sunday, was released at about 4pm on Tuesday.

The police however, declined to comment on whether ransom was paid or not.

Esene was trailed from her home and abducted in the Ikhueniro area of Benin on Sunday on her way to church.
