Covid-19 has claimed the life of Abba Kyari, chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Kyari had gone on self-isolation late March after testing positive for the disease, following a trip to Germany and Egypt.
This was made known by Garba Shehu, the Senior Sepcial Assistant to the president early Saturday morning via a tweet.
He said, ”The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
”The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
”May God accept his soul.
Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”
More so, Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the president as well as Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant to the president confirmed Kyari’s demise in separate tweets.
