Embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has said, he is being set-up for the fall by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its security outfit, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), for his onslaughts against the group recently.
This was revealed in a report by the panel investigating his links to drug gangs and fraudsters and submitted to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali, which was in turn forwarded to the Police Service Commission (PSC).
“It is a campaign to smear his reputation by members of IPOB/ESN who vowed to destroy him, due to his onslaught against them in the South East,” the embattled ‘super cop’ was quoted to have said in the report.
But the panel faulted his claims, ordering his demotion from the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police.
