An officer of the Nigeria Army, Captain GSM Abubakar, has been killed along the notorious Okene-Lokoja Highway in Kogi State.
The captain, attached to the 353 Artillery Regiment, Ojo, Lagos, was sais to be traveling to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, in company of his wife and mother, to participate in the 2020 junior officers course when bandits opened fire on them, killing the soldier instantly.
His wife and mother were also abducted.
The officer’s remains has been moved to his hometown in Niger State for burial.
