GTBank Launched the First Virtual MasterCard in Nigeria

GTBank which is one of the leading financial institutions in the country has launched a virtual MasterCard in the country, the first of its kind. This card which is issued via online banking makes it possible for shoppers to make payment for their online orders.

The virtual card introduced by the bank has all the basic features available in the ordinary physical card but it is meant for payment of international and local online order. Customers can also opt to convert the virtual card to physical card.

The Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Segun Agbaje while speaking during the unveiling ceremony of the virtual card described it as a milestone in the bank’s effort to bring a more seamless banking service to their customers.

Segun said that the bank would always take advantage of technology to provide a more convenient banking service to their customer. The bank according to him was committed to delivering value to their customers and meeting their individual needs.

The launch of the virtual card according to him was a clear indication that the bank was committed to encouraging the development of a cashless culture in Nigeria through the promotion of the utilization of alternative payment channels for both local and foreign transactions.

He further stated that the bank’s desire to be at the front of excellence in banking moved them to pioneer innovative products introduced with the objective of making banking more appealing and simple to people not using their services.

The bank has partnered with MasterCard to provide different types of GTBank MasterCard used in various countries where it has branches. The bank also offers deals and promos to the cardholders to enhance their experiences. Some of the ways through which the bank rewards cardholders include vouchers for shopping and movies, POS Cash Bank Promo and many more
