The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, yesterday outshined the United States of America U-17 football team, at the Fifa U-17 World Cup taking place in Chile.
It didn’t take time for the Golden Eaglets to settle-in the game, as they bossed their US counterpart, as defending champion’s.
The first goal came few minutes into the second half, as US Defender, Auston Trusty’s failed clearance fell into the path of Chukwudi Agor, who made no mistake from 8-yards out.
Striker Victor Osimhen doubled the lead eleven minutes later. The Nigerian No.9 fought off challenge from Trusty and Hugo Arellano, as he ran for goal. Sending the Nigerian fans into a frenzy, as he scored.
The Eaglets controlled possession for most part of the game and often exposed the US back line to intense pressure.
The US however, got a man sent off after, few minutes to the end of the encounter, when a frustrated Trusty was given the marching order for stamping on Osimhen.
The Golden Eaglets will face Chile on Tuesday before finishing the group game against Croatia on Friday.
