Kidnapped Deputy Vice Chancellor of Anchor University, Ipaja, Lagos, Prof. Joseph Fatokun has been released.
This is following a successful negotiation with the kidnappers.
He was said to have been released within Nasarawa State at about 8.00pm.
This was confirmed by the Assistant Registrar Strategy and Communications of the university, Mr. Okesola Sanusi.
According to him, Prof. Fatokun was released on Wednesday evening but did not disclose how or whether it was the security personnel that rescued him.
Sanusi, who spoke to Daily Sun, said after contact was established, negotiations with the kidnappers started.
In a terse statement, he said “To the glory of God, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Anchor University, Professor J.O. Fatokun, has been released.”
Recall that Prof. Fatokun was abducted on Monday, January 18th, 2021 while on way from Jos, where he had gone to attend to family issues.
