The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole leads Minister of Information, Alh. Laid Mohammed, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Governor Elect of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and other party stalwarts to the residence of Iyiola Omisore, governorship candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ife, ahead of the rerun election in Osun State tomorrow.
It will be recalled that Senate President, Bukola Saraki visited the SDP candidate on Monday, in a bid to get his support for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ademola Adeleke.
However, Thursday September 27, happens to be the rerun of the Osun State Governorship Election, which was declared ‘incondlusive’ by the Independent National Electoral Counsil(INEC) after Adeleke polled 254,699 votes, while APC’s Isiaka Oyetola recorded 254,345 votes.
Omisore however was placed third with 128,049 votes but the local government where the rerun would be held, happen to be within his stronghold, with his dad, the Oba of the community, where two of the polling units marked for the rerun election is to be held.
Omisore in his response, said he is yet to agree with either party, but he has made the demands of the SDP known to both parties, which is to implement the SDP programme’s in theirs, good governance and prompt payments of workers wage and so on.
