The Federal Government of Nigeria has summoned South African envoy over the state of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
This was made known by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.
A senior ministry official, Kimiebi Ebenfa, confirmed the meeting to Channels Television.
The meeting is expected to hold at the headquarters of the ministry of foreign affairs by 11 o’clock today.
Onyema had on Monday described the news of the attack on Nigerians as ‘sickening and depressing.’
Received sickening and depressing news of continued burning and looting of Nigerian shops and premises in #SouthAfrica by mindless criminals with ineffective police protection. Enough is enough. We will take definitive measures. @NigeriaGov @DigiCommsNG @GovernmentZA @DIRCO_ZA
