The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) has released a statement saying that it would open its investment and technology promotion office (ITPO) in Nigeria.
The ITPO would be a veritable platform through which both private stakeholders and the public as well as development partners and entrepreneur could create a collaborative links that will enhance the competitiveness and economy diversification which is already on the increase.
According to the statement released in this regard by Mrs. Adebisi, the Head of UNIDO ITPO in Nigeria, additional events such as sensitization workshops on the the computer model for feasibility analysis and reporting (COMFAR), enterprise development and investment promotion program (EDIP), ITPO workshop and gender inclusiveness in technology promotion will be organised by the office.
As stipulated in the statement, these events as well as the sensitization workshops on the major ITPO systems of UNIDO will take place under the chairmanship of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment. This statement made it clear that the objectives of the events would be to attract investment, develop industrial cooperation with international initiatives that are relevant to their course and identify and deploy technologies.
ITPO which would be establish at the request of the federal government will be UNIDO’s first office in the continent. It will hook up to the network of ITPO in China (Beijing and Shanghai), Bahrain, Japan, Italy, Russian Federation and South Korea.
