Former Minister of Defence and elder states man, Theophilus Danjuma, has alleged plot by politicians to rig next month’s general election.
He said this on Tuesday, while commissioning a medical laboratory at the Rufkatu Danjuma Maternity Hospital in his Takum hometown in Taraba State.
Danjuma who accused some politicians of planning to cause unrest, so as to manipulate elections in the state, urged residents of Taraba State “to protect their votes to prevent electoral fraud”.
He added that democracy in practice in Nigeria is quite primitive.
In his remarks: “We must work hard for peace in addition to just registering and obtaining our Permanent Voter Cards.
“There is no need to fight one another because they will use the police and soldiers to destabilise us and rig the elections.”
