Following warnings of an imminent Boko Haram attacks in the South-West, by the National Orientation Agency in Ado-Ekiti.
Where the state Director of NOA, Mr. Dayo Famosaya, had said the alarm had become necessary because of the need to be security conscious and for citizens to be mindful of strangers who lurk around in their surroundings.
However, the Acting Director of Defence Information, Col. Rabe Abubakar, has debunked these claims, describing it as baseless.
He said, “The attention of the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has been drawn to a story published by a section of the media claiming impending attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in some south western states of the country.
“This story is not only baseless but also lacks substance in its entirety, hence should be disregarded. Of more worrisome is the claim that the terrorists have infiltrated the western states.
“While the military and other security agencies have made tremendous successes in degrading and decimating the terrorists who are now in disarray having lost their Centre of gravity, camps and their source of logistics”.
