President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday said corruption has marred the development of Nigeria.

The President said this during the passing-out parade of cadets of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC), Superintendent Course 8 from the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna.

He urged the agency to double their efforts in the war against corruption in the land.

He noted that no one should be spared irrespective of their profile in the country.

President Buhari, who was represented at the ceremony by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said, “As part of efforts to boost the war against corruption in Nigeria, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has trained a total of 328 new investigative officers at the Nigerian Defence Academy.

“The training is to prepare them adequately ahead of their deployment as anti- graft investigators across the country. This government will ensure that every corrupt person is brought to justice.”
