The Administration of the Federal Capital Territory, has denied claims there was a bomb blast in Abuja on Saturday night.

Speculations had it on social media, on Saturday night that an explosive was detonated in Karu, a satellite town of the FCT.

But the FCT Administration, has debunked the claim, saying nothing of such happened.

The FCT Police Command also said it got the report but could not establish its authenticity as its men patrolled the whole of Karu without any trace of an explosion.

In a statement issued by Muhammad Hazat Sule, its Deputy Director/Chief Press Secretary of the FCTA said: “It has come to the attention of the FCT Administration that there were rumours going round of a bomb explosion around Karu Satellite Town, suburb of Abuja on Saturday night, which is untrue.

“The FCT Permanent Secretary, Engr. John Obinna Chukwu, FNSE, wishes to assure the residents of the Federal Capital Territory that the alleged rumour is unfounded.

“According to him, the FCT Police Commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu, in company of other security agents have combed all the nooks and crannies of the area from Orozo to Nyanya and from Karu up to Mararaba, in Nasarawa State without any sign of bomb explosion.

“Thus, the Permanent Secretary has urged the residents of the Territory to disregard such rumour, describing it as baseless.

“Engr. Chukwu assured that the security agencies have intensified the surveillance the entire Federal Capital Territory in order to nip on the bud any of such unfortunate incidents.

“Engr. Chukwu also called on residents to be security conscious, vigilant and report any suspicious person (s) or movement (s) to any nearby security agents.”
