Kidnapped Rev. Fr. Mathew Dajo, of the Parish Catholic Church, Yangoji in Kwali Area council, has been released by his abductors after 10 days in captivity.

He was released on Wednesday night, after an initial request by the kidnappers for N100m ransom.

According to a source, he was released around 9:23 pm on Wednesday, at an undisclosed forest.

The source, however, did not give details regarding the amount of ransom paid before the priest was released.

“We give glory to God for answering our prayers as being a member of the church, our Reverend father has regained his freedom this night, but I can’t say whether a ransom was or not,” he said.

The priest was abducted 2 weeks ago by gunmen who stormed his private residence in Yangoji village and whisked him away at gunpoint after sporadic shooting.
