The kidnapped schoolgirls of Government Secondary School in Jangebe, Zamfara State, have been released by their abductors.

Recall that last Friday, suspected bandits attacked the school in Talata-Mafara Local Government Area and kidnapped an undisclosed number  of students.

Many officials estimated the number of girls kidnapped to stand at 317.

The surge in kidnap has forced governors across northern states to shut down schools, as the bandits seem to have their focus on hapless students. Also, parents have continued to withdraw their kids from schools, as many do not want to wait till it happens to their wards.

Meanwhile, Nigerians and opposition leaders, see the incessant kidnap of school children as a ploy from the government, as they continue to ask how easy it is for bandits to transport kidnapped children from schools, without coming across military or police checkpoints.
