Former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Mr. Timi Alaibe has described an online news linking him with the death of All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Bayelsa State, Col. Sam Inokoba (retd) as “false and malicious.”

Alaibe, a contender for the December Bayelsa State gubernatorial election on the platform of the APC described the allegation as a fabrication, wicked and false and meant to malign his person.

He said although Inokoba (retd), a former state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) died in Lagos this week, he was not privy to the death nor was Inokoba his guest before his demise.

“To my greatest shock today, online publishers started flooding my telephone line with calls on the veracity of the report that they heard concerning the death of Inokoba at my residence in Lagos. To those who tried to verify, we salute their deep sense of professionalism.

“I want to categorically and honestly state here that I have been in Abuja since the beginning of the week and I neither invited our beloved late chairman to my house nor anywhere in Lagos for any discussion or negotiation about the gubernatorial primary of our party in Bayelsa State.”

Alaibe described the story as the “figment of the imaginationsof those who see my entry into the governorship race in my state as a big threat to them.”
