Hoodlums break into warehouse, loot COVID-19 palliatives in Lagos

Suspected hoodlums on Thursday, raided a warehouse and carted away food items in Monkey Village, Maza maza, in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos state.

The food items stolen from the warehouse, were labelled ‘CACOVID, NOT FOR SALE,’ and includes bags of rice, macaroni, spaghetti, salt, garri, sugar and cartons of noodles.

They were said to have stormed the area as early as 8:00am before breaking into thr warehouse.

Residents of Benster Crescent, the street the warehouse is located in, were later invited by the hoodlums to move into the warehouse and pick some palliatives.

A resident of the area, who spoke on anonymity, said, “Some people came to the warehouse this morning to carry some items, they always come there to carry every time.”

“People were begging them and they refused, so when they left, they broke into the warehouse. The government stocked food there while people are suffering.”
