The Nigerian ambassador to Jordan, Haruna Ungogo, is dead.
Ungogo died at a hospital in Garki, Abuja, on Sunday.
According to sources, the ambassador whose remains has been transported to his home town in Kano for burial, was said to have been ill for some time now.
A one time rector at the Kano State Polytechnic, Ungogo, also served as Secretary to the Kano State Government.
Ungogo and 45 others were appointed as non-career ambassadors by President Muhammadu Buhari in October 2016.
