GALLERY: Ban Ki-Moon Lays Wreath at UN Building in Abuja



United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon, in the early hours of today, laid wreath at the bomb site of the United Nation’s building in Abuja, which was attacked by the Boko Haram sect in 2011.


Mr. Ki-Moon, condemned the acts of extremism by the Boko Haram sect and urged the UN workers at the ceremony, not be in despair as a result of the bombing attack. He urged them to remain committed to their job for the advancement of humanity. He made this statement shortly after laying the wreath.

“Terrorism must be brought to an end not only in Nigeria but the world over so that peace could reign again among the peoples,”he said


Back in 2011, suspected Boko haram sect drove a bomb-laden vehicle into the UN building on August 26th, where 21 persons were reportedly killed and 60 others with sustained various degrees of injuries.


The terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
