FG Declares Friday, May 1 As Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Friday, May 1, 2020 as public holiday to mark 2020 International Workers’ Day.

This was made known on Tuesday in a statement by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola and signed by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Georgina Ehuriah.

Minister praised Nigerian workers for supporting the adminiatration of President Muhammadu Buhari in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the country and for agreeing to honor the stay-at-home order by the government.

He noted that their commitment and patience will enable the administration and stakeholders up their game against the pandemic.

More so, the minister expressed optimism that Nigeria’s economy would rebound and come back stronger after the COVID-19 pandemic, especially with the measures taken by the administration so far.
