Court in Benin Republic orders release of Sunday Igbowo’ wife, remands activist in prison



The Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic, where Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho and his wife, were arraigned on Thursday has ordered the wife to be released this evening.

The judge also ordered the Yoruba Nation activist, be kept in custody after adjourning the hearing of his extradition case till Monday, July 26.

They just finished from court. The wife is to be released this night and Sunday is to remain in custody. The matter was adjourned till Friday,” an official revealed after the court hearing on Thursday.

Igboho had been declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS) after his residence in Soka area of Ibadan was raided on July 1. Two persons were killed and 13 others arrested by the DSS in the raid.
