Valentine Chinyem

The Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun state has scheduled November 26, to hear the suit on the certificate of President Muhammad Buhari.

According to the suit which was filed by a lawyer, Kanmi Ajibola, claimed that Buhari is not fit to hold the position of the President of Nigeria because he does not possess a secondary school certificate.

Ajibola also claimed that the president presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) when he contested in the 2015 presidential election.

He insisted that the president violated section 137 (1) (j) of the 1999 constitution.

However, counsel to President Buhari, Solomon Ogunlowo filed a notice of preliminary objections, when the matter arose.

But the counsel to Ajibola, Samuel Echeonwu, told the court that Buhari’s lawyer did not serve him the process for the preliminary objections.

Ogunlowo promised to serve Ajibola’s lawyer the notice of preliminary objections before next adjournment.

The judge, Justice Maurine Onyetenu, however fixed November 26 for the continuation of the case.
