President Muhammadu Buhari has declared Zamfara state a no-fly-zone.

All mining activities were also banned, to curb the rising insecurity in the state.

This was made known by the National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd) to State House correspondents on Tuesday after a five hour security council meeting presided over by President Buhari at the presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to the NSA, the country’s defence and intelligence organization have been put on alert and charged not to allow the country to slide into a state of anarchy.

Monguno also said the president, in the meeting, gave a marching order to the new service chiefs to reclaim all areas under the control by bandits, insurgents and kidnappers .

“We are not going to be blackmailed. The government has the responsibility to assert its will,” Monguno said.

“Citizens can reside wherever they want to reside. Anybody who is a criminal should be brought to book.

“The president has also warned against ethnic profiling. We have enough of chaos.

“Any individual that thinks he can cause disunity should have a rethink.”
