The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, dismissed the application filed by All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, David Lyon, for a review of its February 13, 2020, judgment which overturned the party’s victory in the last governorship election in Bayelsa State.

Delivering its judgement, a seven-man panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta described the applications filed by the APC and its governorship candidate, Lyon, as vexatious, frivolous, and constituted a gross abuse of court process.

The disputed judgment was delivered on February 13, barely 24 hours to the inauguration of Lyon and his running mate, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo.

More so, in the lead judgement read by Justice Amina Augie, the Supreme Court ordered lawyers to the APC and Lyon, Afe Babalola and Wole Olanipekun, both senior advocates of Nigeria, to pay the three respondents the sum of N10m each making it N60m in total.
