The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has agreed to call off its eight-month long strike, after reaching an agreement with the federal government.
The union reached an agreement with the government team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, in Abuja, on Friday
This is following the government’s decision to pay the striking lecturers N70bn and also exempt them from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) which was one of Union’s major demands.
