At least three hundred students have been abducted from a girls’ school by armed bandits have invaded a girls’ school in Zamfara.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported on Friday morning that the mass abduction occurred overnight, saying parents of some of the students have confirmed the development.
According to the BBC, the school, Government Girls’ Secondary School in located in Jangebe, under Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
This is coming barely a few weeks after hundreds of schoolboys were abducted in Kankara, Katsina state by bandits.
Also, nine days ago, bandits breached a high school in Niger State and seized about 29 students and school administrators from the Government Science College, in Kagara.
A spokesman for the police in Zamfara did not immediately return a request seeking comments from the Gazette about today’s abduction of schoolgirls.
